Atomic - If This Wall Could Sing (Album Release Date: 1st March 2024)

(Label: Marshall´s House / Distribution: recordJet / Publisher: Community Promotion)

Once upon a time… in Germany. The Marschel twin brothers hang out in front of the television in the 90s and repeatedly watch a clip that they recorded on MTV. “Live Forever” by Oasis - finally current music that Thomas and Rainer like. Not bad-tempered grunge, but euphoric songs in which The Beatles and The Sex Pistols shake hands. It soon becomes clear to the Marschels: They need their own band, and not a cover band! Her name: Atomic. In 2000, the self-published EP “The Big Issue” was released, which sold four figures and was even positively reviewed in the “NME: New Musical Express” from England.

Atomic become a fixture in the German indie rock scene. They tour avidly, giving up to 40 concerts a year, also supporting Paul Weller & Gem Archer (Oasis), Babyshambles, Kula Shaker and The Charlatans. The debut album “Wonderland Boulevard” was released in 2005, followed by “Coming Up From The Streets” in 2008. After “Heartbeater” (2011), the Marschel brothers decided to put their band on hold. In their hometown, and in the surrounding region, they have worked successfully as DJs and concert promoters for years. But they don't let go of making music. So they decided to write and record a new Atomic album called “If This Wall Could Sing” that shows the band on the cover artwork in front of a wall in Prague dedicated to John Lennon.

Britpop that rocks - that's the magic formula that works well for the band. “Back In The Race” is the first track on “If This Wall Could Sing”, followed by four more stompers, all with irresistible hooks. With “Gimme Your Love” and “Nowhere To Run” the Marschel brothers have created real anthems. The other six tracks slow down the pace only slightly, but are more ballad-like. “Rokycany (Folk Song)” shows that Atomic is also a folk rock band. If walls could sing, they would announce everywhere: Atomic are back - and it's as if they never left.
